Start/Finish
Winfrey Point - White Rock
Lake
No dogs or strollers, please.
Description
1 Team - 5
Runners - 21 Miles
It's a relay with 5 legs
ranging from 2.9 to 6.5 miles. The route is two "long loops",
21 miles,
around White Rock Lake. The
most fun way to do it is with a 5-person team. BUT, if you want to
do it with fewer people (more miles per person), that's fine too.
If you're running it
to win an age group category: You must
have a 5-person team to be
eligible.
Note: Only
5-person teams will be given a chip and timed. Only the last person
running on the team will wear the chip to get a total team time.
One
Step Closer to Green
Here’s how we get there:
-
The brochures
are printed on paper from sustainable forests
-
Only paperless
registration
-
Recycling bins
on race
-
We'll take your
old running shoes to recycle, too. Be sure to bring them on
race day!
And
get this! Every finishing team will get an evergreen tree
sapling! Don’t worry, if you can’t, we
can plant it. A Boy Scout has made it his Eagle Scout project to
plant all the unclaimed trees at the new Pioneer Place Senior Living
Center in Plano.
Beneficiary
The
Rock n Relay is raising money and awareness for what we can’t
take for granted ... our environment. Race proceeds benefit the
Texas Trees Foundation
www.texastreesfoundation.org.

Team
Captains

your team" before the others on your team can register. To do
this, decide on a Team Name and a
Team Division then go to the
Register page.

running the entire distance by yourself.

The Entertainment!
There is a good reason this event is called the Rock N Relays. As
the name implies
we'll rock you around the lake with live entertainment
all along the course.
Team Names
We encourage bizarre
team names! We'll give a FREE guaranteed entry to next year's relay
for the best one!
Need a team?
If you'd like to do the
relay but don't have a team, not to worry. Just send us an e-mail
to
Diane Golden
and she'll hook you up with others.
Race Day Transportation
Getting your teammates
from point to point is half the fun here! Instead of everyone driving
themselves around (you do that enough during the week), we're suggesting
a TEAM VEHICLE! And a DECORATED ONE at that! Your vehicle will drop
a runner and then leap frog ahead to the next exchange, drop the
next runner, pick up the incoming finisher and continue to the next
exchange point. It's non-stop action!
Once you get a vehicle lined-up, get wicked crazy decorating it!
What better way to show team spirit, help your runner spot his/her
team along the route, and "cause a scene" as you drive everywhere!
To the best decorated team vehicle, voted on by course volunteers,
a
FREE guaranteed entry into next year's relay!
Chip Timing
The
Rock n Relay using the IPICO chip timing system, along
with the latest in computer software race technology for the fastest
and most accurate results possible.
-
Only 5-member teams will be chip timed
-
The last runner on each team will wear it
-
Pick up your team chip on race morning, starting at 6:30.
-
If you want your
individual time...wear a watch!
Event T-shirts
The good stuff
just keeps coming…high quality, technical “wicking” shirts go to
the FIRST 500 registrants and everyone else will receive
a high quality, cotton/poly t-shirt.
